2026 Program Schedule
We have scheduled 6 Meetings again for 2026, one of them being a ZOOM ONLY event. As usual, our Regular In-Person Meetings will be held at the Art Barn on the John Brown University (JBU) campus in Siloam Springs, AR. These regular meetings (underlined below) begin at 9:30 AM; arrive a little early, if possible, so you can visit, get some coffee and enjoy a snack before the meetings begin.

MARCH 21: Main Program - Clint Howard, PSA, IAPS/MC from Harrison, AR will do a landscape demonstration related to painting mountains and will stay for an afternoon “mini-workshop” opportunity ($20 fee paid directly to Clint by those staying for the “workshop”). There will be TWO Bonus Programs: Burneta Venosdel will share some books she recommends for painting the anatomy and Randall Kronblad will demonstrate making a “padded sleeve” to protect your artwork when transporting it to local exhibits/shows. www.clinthowardfineart.com

MAY 8 - JUNE 27: The 2026 OPS & APS Members Exhibit will be held at Arts On Main in Van Buren, AR. The Opening Reception will be on Friday May 15th, 6-8 PM. The Exhibit will display up to two paintings by each member plus demos, storyboards, and our “Try It, You’ll Like It” experiential table during the reception.

MAY 16: Main Program - Patricia Ridge Bradley from Coweta, Oklahoma will do a portrait drawing demonstration using charcoal. Patricia will stay for an afternoon “mini-workshop” opportunity ($20 fee paid directly to Patricia by those staying for the “workshop”). The Bonus Program will be a Members “Show & Tell” of one of their recent works. www.patriciaridgebradley.com

JULY 11: ZOOM MEETING (On-Line only) with a live demonstration by Karen Israel, PSA-MP, IAPS/MC, from Connecticut on “Painting Figures in an Environment”. Karen is an extremely accomplished artist and will be sharing her insights with us...plan to “tune-in”. AUGUST EXTRA: When it is often too hot to do anything outside, we are tentatively planning an outing to Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville to discuss some paintings in depth. We may arrange to have lunch together at the Museum after we view the artwork. Date and time to be announced later!!!

September 12: Main Program - Plein Air painting as a group on Sager Creek next to the JBU campus. After lunch (on your own), Charles Peer will stay for an afternoon “mini-workshop” opportunity on drawing in perspective ($10 fee paid directly to Charles by those staying for the “workshop”).

October 10: Main Program - Marie Kash Weltheimer, PSA, IAPS/MC from Oklahoma will do a Still Life using Fabric demonstration titled “Don’t Let the Fabric Spook You”. Marie will stay for an afternoon “mini-workshop” opportunity ($20 fee paid directly to Marie by those staying for the “workshop”). There will be Two Bonus Programs: First Program will be by Charles Peer who will introduce the historical artist we will be using for our painting Challenge at the December Meeting. Second Program will be a panel presentation/critique of select paintings that were accepted into the IAPS Exhibit at the Convention in June. www.mariekash.com

December 5: Main Program - Our own Diana Harshbarger, President of OPS, will do a Pet Portrait. The Bonus Program after Diana’s demonstration will be Members sharing their Challenge painting based upon the artist named at the October Meeting . We will also have our traditional Holiday Luncheon for all along with Holiday gifts by Santa!
